Inclusive-Disability Webinar "Disability-Inclusion and the Covid-19 Pandemic: Ensuring Accessibility

The ASEAN Disability Forum (ADF), the AGENDA, and the ASEAN Secretariat jointly organized the webinar series on "Disability-Inclusion and the Covid-19 Pandemic: Ensuring Accessibility, Equal Rights, and Opportunities for All" on Thursday, 27 July 2020 via Zoom.
The webinar discussed the policy gaps, challenges, and opportunities in addressing the needs of persons with disabilities in the context of Covid-19.
This was the first webinar that will be held by those organizations. The overall goal of the webinar series is to raise awareness on disability-inclusive analysis and approaches in responding to and recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to identify pathways to mainstream the rights of persons with disabilities pursuant to the implementation of the ASEAN Enabling Masterplan 2025: Mainstreaming the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
H.E. Kung Phoak, the Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community of the ASEAN Secretariat, and Ms. Jillian Ray of the Development Counsellor from the Australian Mission to ASEAN opened the webinar that followed by discussion from distinguished speakers. The speakers were namely, Mr. Wong Loon Yong of the NCBM Malaysia, Ms. Hong Ha of the Hanoi ILC Viet Nam, Mr. Abner Manlapaz of the CIP & ADF representative of the Philippines, Mr. Bagus Santoso of the DEFINIT, H.E. Mr. Richard Tan, the Representative of Senior Officials Meeting on Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD), and Mr. Srinivas Tata of the Director of Social Development of the UNESCAP.
